So podcasts are totally a thing.
I was super sceptical of them until actually quite recently. Sceptical in the “ugh my husband likes them therefore they must be shit” way and not a flat earther kind of way. But nonetheless, I wasn’t listening to any and I missed out. Big time.
Then I started tentatively dipping my toe into the pool that is the world of podcasting. And it enveloped me. It was like Netflix for my ears. I binged. I binged a lot. I ended up auto downloading shit loads and using 4G so I had a huge fucking phone bill but whatever. It’s totally cool. Back to my story – yeah podcasts are my thing now.
No that I am quite literally a podcast expert I am going to share with you my 5 favourite podcasts and why you should totally listen to them.
1. Amy Porterfield – Online Marketing Made Easy
Man, I love Amy. She sounds like that really nice auntie you have. She breaks down digital marketing into easy bitesize chunks of goodness. She covers everything from Facebook ads and webinars to copy writing to email list building. She’s really passionate about building that email list, like really. The best part about Amy’s podcast, apart from her lovely lovely nature? She gives away a free download at the end of every single podcast. And I love freebies. Her cheatsheets, pdfs and templates are to die for. (PS when Americans say cheat sheet it sounds like chit shit and I laugh every single time)
2. Jenna Kutcher- The Goal Digger
Now I found Jenna (I love that I am pretending I am on first name terms with her) via her instagram account. I was totally jelly af at her lovely feed and how pretty her website was. Then I realised she had a podcast. Love. It. She does two podcasts a week, one solo and one with a guest. She gives really in-depth advice about content creation, social media marketing and has a wealth of knowledge about Pinterest. The way she presents is pretty much how I would imagine she speaks in real life so it’s a totally nice podcast to listen to.
3. Rachel Hollis – RISE
This podcast is a new one on my list. Normally I binge on 5/6 episodes of one podcast channel to see if I like it and Rachel passed my totally stringent testing. Its life coachy intertwined with business advice geared towards female entrepreneurs. Now I skip the MLM episodes as I personally am completely against them, but her other episodes are fabulous and she exudes a touch of tough love which lets be honest we all need.
4. Marie Forelo – The Marie Forelo Podcast
As a Brit sometimes I can find Americans a bit OTT, and I can totally say that because I married an American and our three daughters are little half ones. So I thought I would find Marie a bit OTT, but honestly her stuff is gold. She’s a lot more life/business coach like and inspiring but listen to it whilst staring at the British weather and its toned down just enough. She’s like an authority of all things marketing and if Oprah likes her then that’s good enough for me!
5. Andrea Klunder – The Creative Impostor
This is a new one to me. I found her through her blog and let’s be honest – the name of the podcast spoke to me. Imposter syndrome? Check! Her podcast covers starting your own podcast, which is something I have in the pipe works but imposter syndrome is cutting off my creative juices and shit. And her podcasts thankfully covers imposter syndrome. So it’s a win win!
Now tell me- do you listen to the podcasts above? Do you not? Have I missed anyone awesome off? I do honestly love recommendations so let me know below!
